Do you think what you wear on the court matters? “Pickleball Core,” the newest trend in fashion, is taking inspiration from the pickleball court. Major designers are getting in on the action with colorful pickleball-inspired collections. 👗However, the USA Pickleball Board of Directors is in the final stages of the 2023 rules change process. Could the sport soon see rules limiting the fun colors and patterns of pickleball paddles associated with “Pickleball Core”? 🤔

One of the top tips to help improve your pickleball game is to move your feet. Generally speaking, moving your feet means positioning your lower body to be behind the pickleball, so that you can set up your shot from the ground up. In other words, by positioning yourself behind the pickleball you will strike the ball out in front of your body (and without over-extending your reach)—which will help you hit the best shot possible. 🎯 Plus, you will be able to generate more power on your shots, as well as more easily prepare for your next shot and stay as balanced as possible.
Bottom line – Move your feet! 👣

Let’s consider the non-officiated scenario where you hit the ball to your opponent across the net and you are convinced the ball bounced twice before your opponent hit the ball. They hit the ball back to you, whereupon you catch the ball and call a fault on your opponent for the double bounce. What is the rule that governs this situation? 🤔
This situation highlights one of the fundamental rules of pickleball that all players must know to eliminate on court disputes. The rule is 13.D.1.d; “For non-officiated matches, if a player believes an opponent has committed any type of fault other than a service or non-volley zone foot fault as noted in Section 7 – Fault Rules, they may mention the specific fault to the opponent(s), but they have no authority to enforce the fault. The final decision on fault resolution belongs to the player that allegedly committed the fault.”
Therefore, in the scenario above, the fault would be on you for stopping play. 🛑 See Rule 7.I.
Imagine you are on the court. You and your partner work to get the Kitchen line while keeping your opponents back near the baseline. ✋ You and your partner have full control of the Kitchen line. Your opponents continue to scramble at the baseline and are staying back. What should you do?

What is happening in pro pickleball?!
In one word: Chaos.
In a few words: The tentative merger negotiated in 2022 between two major entities in professional pickleball—the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and Major League Pickleball (MLP)—has fallen apart in dramatic fashion. While this “tour war” has provided financial security for pro players, it has also led to uncertainty, upheaval, and rifts in the industry. 🤯
