#4. QUICK TIP - FOLLOW THE FLIGHT OF THE PICKLEBALL

Following the flight of the pickleball is important because it can be applied after almost any shot on the pickleball court. ✈️ After hitting the pickleball, adjust your angle of attack according to where you hit the ball. In other words, if you hit the pickleball down the line, you should move in down the line. If you hit the ball across the court, you should adjust your angle of attack across the court. By following the flight of the pickleball you will create better angles for yourself and minimize the angles of your opponent. When playing doubles, your partner should adjust their court positioning to coordinate with you as you change your angle of attack. 📐

#6. RULES REFRESH Q&A - BOUNCING SERVE

By Mark Peifer, USA Pickleball Certified Referee; Past Chairman, USA Pickleball Rules Committee

QUESTION: Can I hit the pickleball and bounce on my side of the net and then over the net like in ping-pong? In other words, can I bounce it over the net?

ANSWER: Based on the way the rule is written, it’s perhaps understandable why you are asking this question, but no; after the paddle contacts the ball on the serve, the ball must travel over the net and into the correct service court. The rule that governs this is Rule 4.A.2 of the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook; “The server must serve to the correct service court (the court diagonally opposite the server). The serve may clear or touch the net and must clear the NVZ and the NVZ lines. The serve may land on any other service court line.” The rulebook makes no allowance for bouncing the ball on the server’s side of the court after the ball is struck on the serve.

SELKIRK SLK HALO

In a sea of black paddles, stand out on the court with the new pink or lime green SLK Halo. 🩷💚 The SLK Halo is an exceptional choice for players ranging from beginners to professionals who prioritize exceptional spin and control on the court. Choose the Max shape for the largest sweet spot for balanced players, or the XL shape for an elongated handle and increased spin for power players. 💪

#7. WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE PULLED OUT WIDE ON THE PICKLEBALL COURT

Crosscourt dinking is a popular pattern on the pickleball court. Eventually, due to this continuous crosscourt pattern, a crosscourt dink from your opponent may be such a strong shot that it takes you out wide on the pickleball court and out of position. What do you do when you are pulled out wide and out of position? Learn pickleball strategies to combat the aggressive crosscourt dink now! 💪
