#7. WHAT IS RALLY SCORING IN PICKLEBALL & HOW DOES IT WORK?

#8. QUICK TIP: KEEP YOUR HEAD STILL

Keeping your head still in pickleball is a fundamental tip for improved balance, control, and consistency in your shots. 🎯 By fixing your gaze on the pickleball and avoiding excessive head movement, you maintain better stability and focus. This steadiness also enhances your shot accuracy, as better balance leads to better shots, as your paddle follows your visual target more effectively.

So, work on keeping your head still when playing. This small adjustment can lead to more precise shots, reduced errors, and an overall improvement in your game.πŸ₯‡

#9. RULES REFRESH Q&A

By Mark Peifer, USA Pickleball Certified Referee; Past Chairman, USA Pickleball Rules Committee

Question: "If you serve in pickleball and it’s going out but the other person catches it or it hits the net player, who gets the point?"

Answer: Those who serve or hit the ball deserve to have their ball bounce on the court on the other side of the net before any line call is made. In the question posed, if a player gets hit by a live ball or decides to stop play by catching the ball without first allowing the ball to bounce on their side of the court, intentionally or otherwise, they have committed a fault and lose the rally. As receivers, it is our responsibility to get out of the way and let the ball bounce. Only then do we know whether or not the ball is 'in' or 'out'. The rule that governs these situations is Rule 7.I.
